Midnight Wish

It’s midnight and my heart misses its beat,
Coz she is sleeping and
there are thousands of miles in-between,
Unaware of my loneliness, my emptiness,
She is unaware of my situation, my restlessness,

As the night pass before my eyes,
I think about her,
Worry about her;
I am such an anxious lover,
My fate not better than the cigarette,
Burning in my fingers; only meaningless,

There she is,
Beautiful; Her face glowing,
Sleeping like a child, her slow breathing,
If wishes could come true,
I could sell my soul for free,
If for once, just once I come in her dream…

Station ki Bench

किसी छोटे से स्टेशन पर सीमेंट की बेंच पर बैठा मैं,
अपने गंतव्य से अनिभिज्ञ, कुछ और ही उधेड़बुन में मशगूल था,
सोचा आज कोई आत्मीय नहीं साथ तो इसी बेंच से ही थोड़ी गुफ्तगू कर लूँ,
समय भी गुज़र जायेगा और तन्हाई की टीस भी जाती रहेगी,
मैंने कहा, “ऐ मुसाफिरों के हमराज़ आज कुछ अपनी भी सुनाओ,
जो कुछ देखते हो दिन भर कुछ आप बीती बताओ,”

उसने जवाब दिया, “क्या सुनाऊँ तुम्हे राही?”,
“मैंने सिर्फ चेहरे नहीं रूहों को देखा है,
सिर्फ झूठी हंसी नहीं सच्ची दुआओं को देखा है,
मैंने यहाँ नौजवानों की बेसब्री देखी है,
ज़िन्दगी को सिर्फ एक ख्वाब समझती बेफिक्री देखी है,
यहीं कहीं पुरानी दोस्ती की गरमाहट थी,
तो अनजान रास्तों पर निकलते मुसाफिरों की हड़बड़ाहट भी थी,



यहीं माँ के पैर छूते संस्कार दिखे,
तो यहीं बाप से न कह पाए जज़्बात दिखे,
जंग पर जाते सिपाही के डर को महसूस किया,
उसकी सलामती के लिए देवी से प्रार्थना करती उसकी संगिनी को सुना,
ना जाने कितने इश्क़ों को अंजाम देखा,
न जाने कितने रिश्तों पर इल्जाम देखा,
अपने सपनों के लिए घर छोड़ आए लड़के के जेब में सिक्कों को गिना,
तो अपने नए घर जाती दुल्हन की उलझन को पढ़ा,

यहीं पर तो बैठे थे वो दोनों,
जब उसकी आँखों से आँसू बहकर ज़मीन पर ना गिरे,
उसके आशिक़ ने उन्हें गालों पर ही रोक लिया,
गाडी के दरवाज़े पर खड़ी जब वो रुख्सत होने लगी,
आशिक़ तब तक दौड़ा जब तक प्लेटफार्म न ख़त्म हो गया,
ये ट्रेन के स्टेशन भी अजीब होते हैं,
लोग घर तो पहुँच जाते हैं पर मंज़िल तक नहीं पहुँचते…”

Couple hugging each other

Sometimes I get irritated when I don’t see you,
Sometimes I get angry when I couldn’t meet you,
My face lights up every time seeing you,
You are the reason I get seven shades of mood,

Since I met you, I fear of getting lonely,
Even though I am good with words, I want to talk to you only,
You must know some sorcery, or is it really true?
I don’t get impressed easily but I am smitten by you,

Not everyone holds my breath as you do,
Blame should be on your simplicity, but you are snowy white too,
I have heard no one is perfect, but you seem very close,
You seem flawlessly carved, from head to toes,

I must be someone special that I could touch you,
Most of the guys get nervous to even talk to you,
You don’t know but I stroll on cloud nine when you walk with me,
It’s quite an amazing feeling,
I am not different, I am not the only person in love,
I just feel different being your world…

I say things that I don’t mean,
Then I let you go,
Sometimes I want you to,
but when you are not around,
I start missing you,

I feel empty inside,
The loneliness, it burns too,
Chocolate doesn’t taste the same,
All those romantic songs now hurt without you,
I try to sleep, but every dream is about you,
I try to smoke, but even that couldn’t fade you,

It’s Saturday night and raining outside,
My neighbors, they are already inquiring about you,
So wherever you are, whatever you are doing,
Just come back coz I really need you,



I am young, you are cute,
my heart is in mess,
I need to see you,
It’s the daily habit to have you around,
My smile goes missing without you,
I am not good with people,
I ain’t that good with solitude,
People have friends,
I got only you,

So wherever you are,
whatever you are doing,
Just come back to me,
coz I really need you…

Miss My Girl

You can get mad thousand times,
I will get you back every time,
I don’t care if you care,
even if you won’t need me, I will be there,

You are a little girl, you got several issues,
honestly, I got a few too,
Every morning I expect my phone to ring,
and to display a big emoticon smiling,

Sometimes there is no message or ping,
and it leaves me worrying,
then, I start to miss my girl,
whom I infinitely love,



I don’t know about tomorrow,
It can only bring avoided sorrow,
All I see is my wonderful today, which has you,
You make me really happy, and I wish you are happy too,

I hope you are getting bored in your Maths lecture,
and reading this would make you miss me there,
So why stay mad at your boy, who is missing you,
just say hi or the cutest, “I love you”…
